This document is a quick guide, step by step, to get Henshin system working in the easiest posssible way. It has links both the needed documentation (manuals and guides), both places where to download Henshin and its utilities and, of course, useful videos to know what is and how works the system.

But, first of all, a serie of warnings.

• Henshin requires basic or medium knowledge about Autocad. We can't learn, yet, how to use the program.
• It's advisable to know how construction works in SL. Words like “primitive”, “texture”, “scale”, “modifiers” (or modificators), etc. must not be like Greek for you.
• Henshin only works with Windows systems, concretely with windows XP (SP2 minimun). We don't offer support for Windows Vista (and we aren't sure thah Autocad runs correctly on it).
• Henshin is not a toy and is neccesary to learn the way it works. You can't make marvels without studying the manuals nor understanding the besis of CAD design (and optionally 3D).
• Henshin is not error free but it is improved often. If you detect any bug, please, tell us for we can correct it as fast as posible.

Getting Henshin

Henshin systems has two main modules:

• The element to use in Second Life (generators and HUD): follow this link to know how to get them. Click here to know how to get Henshin Generator.
• The configuration and encoding utilities (SLTools) which you can get following this link. Click here to get SLTools

The SLTools are stand alone programs intalled locally replacing the old Autocad plugin. They include documentation that we recommend to read.

There are predefined blocks for Autocad with the basic shapes used by the primitives in Second Life (boxes, spheres, cylinders, etc.)

Needed documentation

To operate with Henshin system is needed to read and understand a group of manuals. These guides are both in spanish and english.

You are reading now the online manual, updated as soon as a new feature or error correction is activated. If you need the manual in one single page (for printing, for example) use the link at the bottom of the page (only for registered users).

WARNING: If you don't know Autocad, Henshin probably is not for you. Minimal knowledge about the program operation are required to understand the explanations.

Video Tutorials

Sometimes there are operations which are not explained clear enough in the manuals (even by language misunderstoods). Trying to minimize that we are creating videos with the most common operations you cand do with Henshin.

Support and bug reporting

We know that computer applications aren't perfect and they can have errors. The users can have doubts about its operation too.

In AI Design Studio we have established the following communication channels with us.

• In SL exist the group AI Support and will be included into it anyone who have acquired Henshin. Through this group will be delivered news and event communications (presentations or courses) and it can be used as a channel for queries. If one of us (AI) are online we will try to help you with your problem or doubt.
• There are Support forums where you can post doubts, suggestions, complaints, bug reports, etc. This is the preferred method to contact us because everybody could read the responses. You can access through Henshin menu (right side of web page) or following this link.
